Welcome back! The fall is always an exciting time in the gym, especially for grades 4, 6, and 8. Fall is our key time to pre-test our students' physical fitness levels!
The four components of fitness that we focus on are: cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility. These areas are assessed by a push-up test, curl-up test, flexibility test, and the pacer test which involves interval running to a cadence. We would love to have students begin to set individual fitness goals based off of their pre-test scores.
Throughout the year the physical education staff does our best to plan lessons and activities that will help our students to get great exercise while working together and having fun. We will be testing push-ups and the pacer again in the winter, and then we will be post-testing push-ups, curl-ups and the pacer in the spring.
