    Butwin's Bulldogs Newsletter 10/5/15

    Upcoming Events:

    • Spirit Day on Wednesday:  Make a T-Shirt based on our First Quarter Theme (Fresh Water).
    • Yale Soccer Game vs. Dartmouth on Saturday, October 10th at 7:00pm

Books in a Bag:  Students will be sent home with two books each Monday and they are due each week on Friday.  Please keep the books in your child’s folder or “book buddy bag.”  *Students must return their book on Friday in order to receive a new one.  Remember, strong readers read books more than once!

Homework:  Right now, you child should be taking time to read 10-15 minutes each night.  Please remember to fill out the reading log so I can monitor your students reading.  Also, please check your child’s folder for Homework Packets!  Students will receive the packets on Monday and they are due on Friday.

Yale Soccer Game:  I am the Director of Soccer Operations for Yale.  Join me in watching the Yale Women’s Soccer Team as we take on Dartmouth on Saturday, October 10th at 7:00pm.  The game is at Reese Stadium, which is just two minutes from Barnard (75 Central Ave, New Haven, CT 06515).  Reach out if interested!

Favorite part about being an Environmental Studies School:  My favorite part about being Environmental Studies school is that we are committed to something that is bigger than ourselves. Specifically, our environmental focus promotes kinesthetic learning and instills values of respect and concern for both humans and nature.

Favorite Quote: As you put your sights on your goals – no matter how great and compelling they are – as you look into the distance, don’t forget what is right in front of you today. No matter how great your dreams, no matter how great your destiny, the biggest thing you can do in any day is a small act of kindness.”  -Cory Booker
